The modern world demands constant multifunctionality, turning the individual into a participant in an endless circus where every role must be performed at the same time.

Society prohibits aggression until it becomes entertainment. Makeup legitimizes what would otherwise be punished. We laugh not because it's funny, but because we're allowed to. The circus is a space where cruelty is applauded. When violence becomes a performance, the audience loses its sense of responsibility. The question isn't why the clown is cruel. The question is why cruelty evokes joy.
